Privacy Policy
What we collect
When you create an account or make a purchase on Data for BI, we collect the following information:
- •Account information - Your name and email address, collected when you sign up
- •Purchase records - Details of which data kits you have purchased, payment amounts, and transaction IDs
- •Session data - Cookies necessary for keeping you signed in and maintaining your session
We measure how the site is used, and we do it without following you. Our analytics is cookieless: it records that a page was viewed, where the visit came from, and how fast the page loaded, all in aggregate. It sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, builds no profile, assigns you no identifier, and cannot see what you do on any other website. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell or share this data.
How we use it
Your information is used to manage your account, process purchases, deliver the data kits you buy, and send transactional emails related to your orders. We do not send newsletters, promotional emails, or marketing messages of any kind.
Third-party services
To run this platform, we rely on a small number of trusted third-party services. These providers receive only the data they need to perform their specific function:
- •Clerk - Handles authentication (sign-up, sign-in, session management). Receives your email address and name.
- •Dodo Payments - Processes payments as our Merchant of Record. Receives your email, name, and payment details. Dodo Payments also handles tax collection and invoicing on our behalf.
- •Cloudflare - Hosts our website and stores data. Your account and purchase information is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure. Cloudflare Web Analytics also provides the cookieless page-view measurement described above; it reports aggregate counts to us and never identifies a visitor.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The services listed above are the only parties that receive any of your data, and only for the purposes described.
Cookies
We use cookies strictly for authentication and session management. These cookies keep you signed in as you navigate the site. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any form of cross-site tracking. There are no optional cookies to accept or reject because we only use the ones required for the site to function.
How we keep it safe
Your data is stored securely on Cloudflare infrastructure. Authentication is handled by Clerk, which manages credentials and session tokens so we never store your password directly. Payment information is processed by Dodo Payments and never touches our servers. We follow industry-standard security practices to protect everything within our control.
Data retention
We keep your account information and purchase history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our systems. However, please note that our payment processor (Dodo Payments) may retain transaction records independently as required by tax and financial regulations. We have no control over their retention policies.
Your rights
Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to:
- •Access - Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- •Correction - Ask us to correct any inaccurate information
- •Deletion - Request that we delete your personal data from our systems
- •Portability - Receive your data in a standard, machine-readable format
