Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Data for BI website and your purchase of data kits from our platform. By creating an account or making a purchase, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What we sell

Data for BI sells synthetic data kits designed for business intelligence professionals. Each kit contains fabricated datasets in formats like Parquet and CSV, structured using standard data modeling patterns such as Star and Snowflake schemas. All data is entirely fictional and generated for educational and testing purposes.

Your account

You need an account to purchase and access data kits. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If we have reason to believe your account is being misused, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate it.

License and usage rights

When you purchase a data kit, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use that kit. This means:

  • •You may use the data for learning, testing, building demos, practicing with BI tools, and training purposes
  • •You may use the data in portfolio projects, presentations, and educational materials
  • •You may not sell, resell, sublicense, or distribute the data kits in any form, whether in full or in part. This includes repackaging, bundling, or offering the raw data files as a standalone product or as part of a product where the data itself is the primary value
  • •You may use the data as a supporting component within your own offerings, such as training sessions, workshops, courses, or consulting engagements, as long as the data kit is not the main thing being sold. For example, running a BI training workshop where participants work with our data is fine. Selling or giving away the data files themselves is not
  • •You may not use the data in production systems, official reports, or any context where real data is expected
  • •You may not claim the data as your own creation or remove any attribution to Data for BI

The license is yours for as long as your account remains active and in good standing. Purchasing a kit does not transfer ownership of the data itself. Data for BI retains all intellectual property rights over the data kits and their contents.

Payments and billing

All payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments handles invoicing, tax collection, and payment processing on our behalf. Prices are listed on the product page at the time of purchase. All sales are in USD unless stated otherwise. You will receive a receipt from Dodo Payments after each purchase.

Refunds

We offer refunds under specific conditions. Refund requests must be submitted within 24 hours of purchase. The refund amount is determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the reason, up to a maximum of 80% of the original purchase price. A minimum of $0.50 USD is withheld in all cases. Digital delivery

Data kits are delivered digitally through your account on our website. Once a purchase is completed, the kit becomes available in your library for download. There is no physical shipment involved. If you experience any issues accessing a purchased kit, contact us at support@dataforbi.com.

Intellectual property

All content on this website, including data kits, website design, branding, text, and graphics, is the property of Data for BI and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of this website or its content beyond what is explicitly permitted by your license.

Limitation of liability

Data for BI provides synthetic data kits on an "as-is" basis. We make no warranties or guarantees, express or implied, about the suitability, accuracy, completeness, or fitness of our data for any specific purpose.

Our data kits are synthetic and intended solely for learning, testing, demos, and training. It is your responsibility to review and evaluate the data before using it in any context. You assume full responsibility for how you choose to use the data.

Data for BI is not liable for any loss of any kind, including but not limited to financial loss, lost revenue, lost profits, wasted time, data corruption, business interruption, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that arise from the use, misuse, or inability to use our data kits. This applies regardless of whether we were advised of the possibility of such loss.

In all cases, our total liability to you for any claim related to our service will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific data kit in question.

Prohibited use

You agree not to:

  • •Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • •Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other user accounts
  • •Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the website
  • •Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract content from the website
  • •Present our synthetic data as real data to mislead others
  • •Sell, resell, or distribute the data kits or any portion of their contents, whether directly or through a third party

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in any prohibited use. If your account is terminated for a violation, you lose access to all purchased data kits and are not entitled to a refund. You may also close your account at any time by contacting us. In that case, your access to purchased kits will end, but we will honor any valid refund requests made within the applicable window.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. If we make significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through your registered email address.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service will be resolved in the courts of India. This does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country.
